I’m writing for this week’s #FiveMinuteFriday. Our word prompt is PLACE. These are my five minutes of unedited thoughts. You can visit the FiveMinuteFriday community for more wonderful thoughts and link-ups.
I place my hands to the keyboard, but my mind is in another place.
Sometimes the places we’re in are not the places we dream to be.
We dream of open places. Peaceful places. Soft places. Quiet places. Safe places. A place to belong. A place to breathe. A place to unpack all the hard places we’ve been.
I am in a hard place right now. But I know this place is momentary.
One day I will be in that restful, peaceful, eternal place. A place with no sorrow, no hardship, no worries, no regret. A perfect place beside my Savior.
But that place is not where He wants me. Not yet.
There is work to be done — in this place. On this night. In this moment. Now. At this computer. In this chair. My place is here.
My focus, my heart, my presence, my purpose — they all belong right here and now.
Don’t long for a different place. Love the place you’re in and live it to the full.
God has placed you in the right place, at the right time, for the right reasons.
